THE KARATE BOB

Karateka Slobodan Radojev Mitric, known by the nickname KARATE BOB, trained from his sixteenth year in the traditional Shotokan Karate Style, which was inaugurated by the father of modern Karate GISCHIN FUNASKOSHI.
KARATE BOB was until the age of 23 professional karateka and Karate professor, and as such taught Jiu Jitsu and Shotokan Karate in several Western European countries to Western youth, police and secret services.
In the autumn of 1971, Karate Bob disarmed a Croatian terrorist from Osijek, karate teacher Tomislav Rebrina. The man had drawn a gun and was planning to liquidate leading representatives of Yugoslavia in Sweden: Dusko Sekulic, Vukasin Milicevic, Sele Popovic, Slavko Zecevic and Karate Bob.
After Karate Bob had overpowered his "karate” colleague, he handed him over to the Swedish police, but only after Rebrina Tomislav had admitted that he was under orders from the Yugoslav Minister of Internal Affairs and the head of the SDB in Osijek to commit this crime, which fortunately could be prevented.
A few months later, Bob Karate was arrested under the accusation that he had mistreated dozens of Ustasha’s and that he had supposedly raped a Swedish girl and held another woman hostage in his nightclub.
Since then, everything went downhill …
Numerous attempts to assassinate KARATE BOB were made … "Heroes" with machine guns even opened fire on him …             "Western European democratic states" demanded lifelong sentences for KARATE BOB from the courts, since they could not swallow the fact that this man had offered resistance to save his own life…
KARATE BOB wound up in prison, where he spent a total of more than 17 years …
But from the first day of captivity, Karate Bob did not give up.
The cells in which he was imprisoned, were everywhere less than 2 meters wide and 3 meters long. Of course, there was also a bed, a metal wardrobe, a table and chairs, a cupboard with a pot and a bowl of water (the prisoners were forced to answer nature’s call in a small pot and clean it once a day. Once a day they were allowed to fetch fresh water, so that it was almost impossible to breathe in such a small space, let alone do KARATE training…
KARATE BOB pushed the metal wardrobe against the wall of the cell where there was a window without transparent glass and metal bars(the prisoners were even barred from watching the blue skies).
The wardrobe covered half the wall below the metal bars. Then KARATE BOB lifted the bed up vertically and put it against the rest of the wall. Then, he placed the table and chairs as well as the cupboard with the pot on top of the metal wardrobe, thus creating a space of no larger than 4 square meters.
That means two meters wide and two meters long.
In this space Karate Bob was now able to perform all karate techniques without any problem, but doing KARATE Kata’s was unthinkable. As each karateka knows, it is impossible to do whatever Karate Kata in whatever Karate Style in such a small space, let alone the Shotokan KARATE Kata, which requires long steps. In the worst case, an area of at least 4 by 6 meters was needed.
Goodbye KARATE!
In his imagination, KARATE BOB heard those spotting him, those who had so often tried to liquidate him and when that failed, locked him up between these concrete walls and steel bars. As if KARATE BOB was a very valuable treasure that in this manner had to be incarcerated in the treasury.

KARATE BOB sits down to meditate.
With meditation, this presents no problem.
There no one can fence you in or take away something… Go through anything to anywhere … Fly away … Divide the seas… Stroke the stars …visit the past and future…Glance into the palace of the Creator or as others call Him, God … and if you are really honest, return without a scratch into your own cell…
But to successfully forge your spirit as a sword of ordinary iron to steel, for that apart from mental exercises also physical ones are needed …
This means that without physical movement no spiritual perfection can be attained…
KARATE KARATE BOB = GOODBYE!

But Karate Bob would not be Karate Bob if he not invented something to remedy the situation …
KARATE BOB DECIDED TO TO CREATE A NEW KARATE STYLE!
He christened it:
CEL-CAN-DO
KARATE BOB modified Zen Kutsu-dachi, Kokutcu Dachi, Kiba dachi and all other Karate positions down to very short movements (steps), so that in this small space a really new KARATE STYLE was born: "SLOMIBO CEL-CAN-DO"

CEL-CAN-DO is in all respects similar to SHOTOCAN KARATE STYLE, only the steps are minimized. The speed and force of impact of the karate techniques performed by hand as well as with the legs are thereby tripled …
CEL-CAN-DO KARATE is a style that can be successfully practiced under all circumstances and in all spaces.
Sailors on boats or submarines, for example, can practice the KARATE STYLE SLOMIBO CEL-CAN-DO without any problems and of course also those who are voluntarily or forcibly detained:
Monks, nuns, and prisoners…

Sincerely,
THE KARATE BOB
